He strikes me a Ni user in his style of thought - having read Manufacturing Consent and seen him present a few times - he seems to be more driven by Fe (grand social harmony/Fe as opposed to grand systems harmony/Te) and his way of speaking strikes me as more Ti driven - he chooses his words carefully and can take a long time to make the right point in order to have the most impact.
